The State Bank of India is the country’s oldest bank and has widespread. It is headquartered in Mumbai. SBI conducts online objective prelims and mains exams which are followed by GD and Interview for PO for its bank. Recently its associate banks viz. State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore and State Bank of Mysore have got merged into it.

Overview


There will be online objective type Preliminary test followed by online objective Main test and online descriptive test. Main exam will be followed by GD and interview.

Preliminary Online Objective Test:   The test will be online objective type, consisting of English language, Quantitative aptitude and Reasoning Ability. The time duration for the Preliminary exam is 1 hour.


Eligibility


Age:   The candidate should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years as per norms of board.


Educational Qualification:   Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure the date of passing the IDD. Candidates possessing qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.

Main exam:  
Objective Test : The time duration for Main exam is 2:20 hour This test will be online objective type, consisting of Reasoning Ability, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness with special reference to banking and Computer Knowledge.

Descriptive Test : The time duration for Main exam is 2:20 hour This test will be online objective type, consisting of Reasoning Ability, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness with special reference to banking and Computer Knowledge.


Group Discussion and Interview :   The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and the Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.

State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore and State Bank of Mysore have got merged into it.


Overview


There is online objective type test followed by interview.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:   Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests and test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:
  • 1. English Language
  • 2. Numerical Ability
  • 3. Reasoning Ability

NOTE: Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 20 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) will be short listed for the Main Examination.
Phase – II: Main Examination:  
  • 1. General/ Financial Awareness
  • 2. General English
  • 3. Quantitative Aptitude
  • 4. Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude
  • The time duration for Main Exam is 2 hours and 40 mins

Each test will have separate timing. The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English & Hindi. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests. The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level. Candidates are also required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.

Phase – III: Interview :   Candidates qualified in the test (main examination) will be placed according to their marks in descending order in respective categories. Depending upon the number of vacancies only certain number of candidates amongst those who qualify by ranking high enough in the merit will be called for interview in the ratio of maximum 3 candidates for each vacancy.

Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks (to be decided by the bank) in interview to be considered for final selection. 5% relaxation for SC/ST/ OBC/PWD/XS category will be available thereon. Note: Interview call letters will be uploaded on the Bank's website after declaration of result of online test.

Test of knowledge of official and/or local language: Those who produce 10th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied official (local) language will not be subjected to any Language test. In case of others, language test will be conducted at the time of interview (if interview is held) /before final selection (if interview is not held). Candidates not found to be proficient in official and/or local language would be disqualified.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) (Hindi: कर्मचारीचयनआयोग) is a Government organization to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. SSC broadly conducts two types of examinations. (i) SSC CGL exam (ii) SSC Combined Matric Level Examination i.e. SSC 10+2


Overview


The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:

Tier-I – Written Preliminary Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type) :   The written exam will consist of objective type papers of 2 hours for all and 2 hours 40 mins for visually handicapped. The subjects involve General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and Comprehension


Tier-II - Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type) :   Tier II exam is conducted over a period of two days.The written exam will consist of objective type papers of 2 hours for all and 2 hours 40 mins for visually handicapped. Subjects are Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics and General Studies (Finance and Economics)

NOTE: Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension are compulsory for all posts. Statistics is for those who are appearing in Statistical Investigator Gr.II and Compiler. General Studies is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Assistant Audit Officer. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Tier-I. In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks in English Language and Comprehension and 0.50 marks in Quantitative Aptitude and Statistics for each wrong answer.


Tier-III - Personality Test cum Interview / Computer Proficiency Test / Skill Test (wherever applicable) / Document Verification :   Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks in the Written Examination prescribed by the Commission will only be called for the Skill Test. The Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the skill test for different categories of candidates. The candidates need to have data entry speed of 8000 key depressions per hour. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only.

Overview


This is a three tier exam for the post of Data Entry Operator, Postal Assistant & Sorting Assistant (PA/SA), Lower Division Clerk and Court Clerk.

Tier-I- Computer based Written Examination   The written exam will consist of objective type papers of 1:15 hours for all. The test will be on General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness.


Tier-II- Descriptive Paper :   The Duration of Exam is 1 hours only and minimum 33% marks are needed to qualify the descriptive Paper. The Paper will comprise of Essay Writing of 200-250 words and Letter/Application Writing of 100-150 words. The Final merit is prepared by candidates’ performance in the Tier-1(Objective test) and Tier-2 (Descriptive Paper).

NOTE: There will be negative marking of 0.50 mark for wrong answers Leaving English question paper, all the other papers will be available in both Hindi and English.


Tier-III- Typing Test/Skill Test Examination :  
Typing Test for LDC :
English Typing @ 35 w.p.m (Time allowed 10 minutes) (30 minutes for VH candidates). Hindi Typing @ 30 w.p.m (Time allowed 10 minutes) (30 minutes for VH candidates). Passage Dictators will be allowed for Typing Test only to those VH candidates who have taken Scribe in the written examination.
